Your Fusion Pro 2 has arrived – and you want to switch it on right away. That is exactly what you should not do yet. In this video I set up the Fusion Pro 2 step by step: in tank mode with an internal CO₂ cylinder, through every on-screen step and the most important settings afterwards.

The video covers: • Placement: remove the blue transport locks, leave about 10 cm on both sides for ventilation, mind the depth of over 50 cm • The 24-hour wait after transport so the coolant can settle – do not plug it in before • Cleaning the external tank with lukewarm water and a little citric acid, then rinsing thoroughly • Switching on and starting the “Commissioning” menu item • Choosing the water connection (tank or mains) and CO₂ connection (internal or external) – both can be changed later • Steps 1–6: fill the tank, place a large container under the outlet, run the filter flush, discard the flush water (do not drink it) and refill the tank • Steps 7–8: open the CO₂ compartment and screw in the cylinder by hand – pink SodaStream Quick Connect cylinders do not fit • Steps 9–10: wait for cooling and carbonation (up to 12 hours according to the display) • Setting the cooling (4–8 °C; no sparkling water with cooling off or above approx. 15 °C) • Checking the filter status (100% after setup, replace after 12 months at the latest) • Date and time, Eco Mode and further settings

Setting up the Fusion Pro 2: the written guide

All steps from the (German-language) video to read through – in tank mode with an internal CO₂ cylinder. If you connect the unit to the mains water supply, some steps differ; the display guides you through those too.

    What you need

    • A large enough container for the flush water – the drip tray is not big enough
    • Lukewarm water and a little citric acid to clean the external tank
    • A suitable screw-in CO₂ cylinder – pink SodaStream Quick Connect cylinders do not fit
    • 24 hours of patience after transport before plugging it in
    • Some time afterwards: according to the display, full cooling and carbonation can take up to 12 hours

    Before switching on

    • Choose the location

Put the unit where it will stay permanently. Leave about 10 cm free on both sides so the vents are not blocked.

The Fusion Pro 2 is a little over 50 cm deep – make sure it stands fully and securely on the worktop.

    • Remove the transport locks

Remove all blue transport locks and check for leftover packaging.

    • Wait 24 hours

After transport the unit must stand still, level and upright for at least 24 hours before you plug it in, so the coolant can settle. Plugging it in too early can, in the worst case, damage the cooling system.

    • Clean the external tank

Use the waiting time: clean the tank with lukewarm water and a little citric acid, then rinse it several times with clear water. The tank is not dishwasher-safe.

Set it aside empty – you fill it when the display asks you to.

    Starting the commissioning

    • Switch on

Plug in and switch on via the switch on the back. The unit beeps and the display starts.

    • “Commissioning” menu item

Tap the gear icon at the bottom right, choose “Commissioning” and confirm the greeting.

    • Check packaging and prepare a container

The display asks again about packaging and transport locks – check and confirm.

Inserting the drip tray is optional at this point. More important is having the large container ready for the filter flush.

    • Choose water and CO₂ connection

Choose “Tank” (or mains) and “internal” CO₂ (or external for a larger cylinder). Both can be changed later in the menu.

    The 10 on-screen steps

    1. 1

Open the cover, remove the external tank

If your cleaned tank is already standing empty next to the unit, simply confirm.

    2. 2

      Fill the external tank

Fill it completely with fresh tap water and insert it straight.

Small foam bubbles during the first filtering are normal. This first fill is only used for the filter flush and discarded afterwards.

    3. 3

      Prepare the filter flush

Place the large container under the outlet and start the flush on the display.

    4. 4

      Filter is flushed

Let the programme run completely (pausing is possible). This water is not for drinking.

    5. 5

      Discard the flush water

Carefully remove the container and pour the water away – do not drink it.

    6. 6

      Refill the tank

Discard any remaining water, refill with fresh water and reinsert. Normal operation starts now.

    7. 7

      Open the CO₂ compartment

Slide the left side cover up, pull it off by the tab and carefully pull the cylinder holder out a little.

    8. 8

      Insert the CO₂ cylinder

Remove the protective cap, place the cylinder straight and screw it in clockwise by hand – no tools.

A short hiss just before it is fully in is a good sign: CO₂ is flowing into the system and the CO₂ symbol appears. Then push the holder back and refit the cover.

    9. 9

      Wait for carbonation

According to the display, cooling and carbonation can take up to 12 hours. Just leave the unit switched on.

    10. 10

      Commissioning complete

The display confirms completion. Only the key settings remain.

    Key settings afterwards

    • Cooling

In the “Cooling” menu you can set the cold water temperature between 4 and 8 °C. I use 4 °C.

With cooling off or water warmer than about 15 °C, there is no sparkling water.

    • Filter status

After setup the pre-installed filter should show 100%. Replace it after 12 months at the latest, regardless of the remaining value shown.

    • Date and time

Do not skip this: Eco Mode needs the correct time to control cooling and display.

    • Eco Mode

Under “Set period” you define when cooling and display pause, for example at night.

End the period a little before your first use: if you want cold water at 7 am, Eco Mode should not end exactly at 7.

    • Sound, brightness and model info

“General settings” covers key sounds, display brightness and model information. Many display icons are tappable and explain what the unit is doing.

    Troubleshooting

There is no or hardly any sparkling water yet.

After first setup the unit needs up to 12 hours according to the display. There is also no sparkling water while cooling is off or the water is warmer than about 15 °C.

Foam bubbles rise in the tank during the first filtering.

This is normal on first setup and harmless. The first tank fill is used for the flush and discarded anyway.

I already filled and inserted the tank before starting.

No problem: just confirm steps 1 and 2 on the display and continue.

    Which CO₂ cylinder fits?

A screw-in cylinder, turned clockwise by hand. Pink SodaStream Quick Connect cylinders do not fit.

Should I unplug the unit at night?

Better not – use Eco Mode. In standby the UV-C hygiene functions stay active; switched off or unplugged, they do not.
